Sky Dance – be part of it
Leys CDI Summer Holiday Project 2023 and Glow Your Own are hosting Sky Dance, a cost-free youth project to explore creative and technological applications of drones.
Precision control of robotics using human operated or pre-programmed systems is useful in a range of areas. Whether as hand-eye coordination while playing computer games, creating artistic technology projects, or being useful in industry careers.
Sky Dance with IF Oxford, The Drone Rules and Leys CDI intends to work with young people to:
- raise awareness of remotely operated robotics for research and artistic purposes;
- introduce coding, building and operating drones / remotely operated machines; and
- explore education and career options in drone and robotics technology.
With funding from Oxford City Council, UKRI and Oxford City Council, and involving several other partners, this project will introduce young people to drone technology and, working with local companies with drone operation expertise, create a sky dance.
Workshop sessions are on Monday afternoons, 1.30-3.30pm: 31 July, 7 August, 14 August, 21 August
