Would you like to volunteer for IF Oxford, the science and ideas Festival this October?

This year’s science and ideas festival takes place between Friday 7 and Tuesday 25 October, and will include over 100 events, both digital and in-person, in locations across Oxford city centre and southeast Oxford.

Without the support of an amazing team of volunteers, the Festival would not be able to take place, so we are asking you to help us again.

The Festival has volunteering opportunities on weekdays and weekends, during the day, or in the evenings. Even if you only have a few hours to spare, we can find something useful for you to do.

You don’t need to have any scientific knowledge to help at our events, just a friendly personality, lots of enthusiasm and be over 18 years of age.

You might be helping to set up a venue, welcoming or managing audience members, assisting a Q&A session, distributing literature, collecting feedback, helping to manage an event on Zoom or supporting our social media efforts.

Volunteers will:

  • have reasonable local travelling expenses reimbursed
  • be covered by the Festival insurance and will be supported in the role
  • get a Festival T-shirt

You will receive guidance and support from the Festival team, especially with our COVID security protocols, ensuring we keep you and our audiences safe.

IF Oxford will start recruiting volunteers for the 2022 Festival in June. In the meantime, if you are interested in being kept informed of volunteering opportunities, please email [email protected] and ask to be added to the volunteer mailing list.

The Festival team looks forward to working with you in October to deliver another amazing Festival for thousands of people.
