Would you like to get involved with IF Oxford, the Science and Ideas Festival? We’re gearing up for an exciting Festival in October 2026, with around 100 events across Oxford and beyond. But there are also opportunities to volunteer year-round, with varied tasks and support roles to help bring this unique Festival to life.

Our October Festival runs over several weeks, with events on weekdays, weekends, during the day, and in the evening. If you’d like to support us at other times, there are plenty of ways to get involved year-round, including roles in event planning, social media, outreach, and community engagement.

Year-round and October Volunteer Roles Include:

Helping with event logistics and planning
Setting up venues and preparing event spaces
Managing audiences and supporting Q&A sessions
Photography and videography of events
Assisting with sound engineering
Supporting online events
Promoting events through social media and other channels
Distributing Festival materials and gathering audience feedback

Volunteers Will Receive:

Reimbursement for reasonable local travel expenses
Full training, guidance, and support, including Festival insurance coverage
An IF Oxford Festival T-shirt for events

Our team will provide support and ensure you have the guidance needed, including safety and security protocols, to create a smooth and enjoyable experience for you and our audiences.
