Storm-Cloud: Observations of the Sky

Storm-Cloud is an immersive performance created in response to John Ruskin’s prophetic public lecture “Storm-Cloud of the Nineteenth Century” (1884), which highlighted the disastrous results of industrialisation, the human role in climate change and the effects of air pollution.

Developed by Dr Tom Payne from Sheffield Hallam University with an interdisciplinary team of artists and scientists, the performance combines live spoken text, digital projection and a unique weather soundscape to conjure a striking atmosphere of environmental unease that evokes the climate crisis.

Features flashing lights and loud noises.

Before the performance take a chance to explore the museum collection after dark while the bar is open.
