From the first trains to Oxford in 1844 to present day redevelopments, railway engineering has centuries of stories. Join former Railway Manager David Mather for a short walking tour to explore the history and future rail industry around the city including the unique and newly restored Rewley Road swing bridge.
Suitable for teenagers and adults.
David Mather first arrived in Oxford in 1972 as British Rail’s assistant area manager. He has spent 52 years working in the railway industry, and his enthusiasm for it remains undimmed.
