Maths v Sport

Venue: New Road Baptist Church, Bonn Square, Oxford, OX1 1LQ

How do you take the perfect penalty kick? Where is the best place in the world to attempt a world record? What is the limit of human endurance? Maths has all of the answers and the Naked Mathematician, Tom Crawford will be telling you how you can use it to be better at sport… (results may vary).

Suitable for age 12+

Tom Crawford is a tutor at St Hugh’s College at the University of Oxford where he teaches maths to the first and second year undergraduate students. He previously worked for the Naked Scientists – an award-winning production company that specialises in broadcasting science news internationally via the radio and podcasts. As part of this role Tom was frequently heard talking all things science and maths on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, BBC Radio 5 Live and ABC Australia.

IF Oxford is operating a Pay What You Decide (PWYD) ticketing system. This works by enabling you to pre-book events without paying for a ticket beforehand. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to pay what you decide you want to, or can afford. If you prefer, you can make a donation when you book.

There may be tickets available on the door – spaces may be reallocated if ticket holders are late.
