Haunted Oxford: wandering ghost stories
Meet at the Martyr’s Memorial, Magdalen Street, OX1 3AE
Join Uncomfortable Oxford for a tour of Oxford’s spectral past. Explore historic truths behind ghost stories embedded in the city’s medieval landscape and architecture. Question the origins of ghost stories and other spine-chilling tales, asking what they mean, why stories persist into the present and how and who we remember as ghosts.
Meet at the Martyr’s Memorial on Magdalen Street, opposite the Randolf Hotel, at the junction with St Giles and Beaumont Street. (Please note, this is NOT the War Memorial, which is further along St Giles).
Suitable for teenagers and adults.
Uncomfortable Oxford is an academic-led social enterprise that provides opportunities for research-informed public dialogue in the form of critical walking tours. Their tours aim to question established narratives and break down institutional barriers in order to advocate for justice and accountability.
