From Structural Failure to Engineering Innovation

Venue: City of Oxford College, Technology Campus, Cuddesdon Way, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, OX4 6HN

Can failure lead to something positive? Exploring how structures fail offers unique insights into the physical principles which govern our world. Martin Walker from the University of Oxford’s Department of Engineering Science demonstrates the interesting ways in which engineering failures have inspired novel technologies. Following the talk, get your hands on some prototypes to understand how they work.

The event is free, but spaces are limited, so please book a ticket.
