Where

Where the Festival takes place

The Festival typically takes place in dozens of venues across Oxford city centre and beyond with clusters of activity designed to capture attention and develop public interest in science and ideas topics. Event venues include several larger spaces to host one of our shared Festival Zones, such as in a shopping centre, community centre, business park or college. For ‘stand-alone’ events, the venue might be a church, pub function room, library, café, lecture theatre or outside in a cemetery or on the streets of Oxford.

For IF Oxford 2026, we anticipate a Festival of mainly in-person events, and can be flexible in how events are developed and delivered.

We are interested in hearing about your ideas for activity that could happen indoors or outdoors, such as talks, walks, tours, installations, performances or exhibitions. If you prefer not to offer an in-person event, we will work with you to adapt your activity for a digital audience.
